Fern Web was contacted by FOTF due to our work in the field of custom statistics. They had an interesting proposal and we agreed to come aboard as a partner in their company. We developed Scheduler+ a customized scheduling system for the hundreds of teams they look after. This was extremely complex work which required us to come up with a brand new concept to fulfill their objectives. This is something which hadn’t been done before but we were able to concept the issue, design and then implement it. The first of it’s kind which saved the customer hundreds of hours of manual work.

We hired Daryl and Fern Web due to their work on customized projects we heard from other organizations. We offered them a part of our company due to our confidence in them and them, in us. They came up with a way to help our clients save hundreds and hundreds of hours of time. This was something that had not been done before but now after the first year we are very satisfied with the work done and look forward to adding more and more features each year.
The Challenges: Implement Scheduler
The customer (FOTF) came up with very strict business rules which would allow them to give THEIR clients something never done before.
We created an online Scheduling system between teams throughout their leagues which tracked requests, changes, and interaction with their websites.
These are amateur teams who use volunteers to manage their teams. These volunteers don’t have the time and expertise to use Google Docs, Word documents, or pdfs to get things done.
We created an online system that allowed the teams to interact with other teams to develop their schedules. The nice thing is there is no paperwork! However, the FOTF managers can follow every scheduling request and submission as we created an electronic trail of requests.

We had to create something that hadn’t been done before; multiple teams in different areas interacting with each other in a simple-to-use interface.
The business rules we created have teams limited to teams they can interact with, depending on FOTF tier, league, and divisional settings.
The nice thing about this system is we have created a total management system for FOTF. They control the creation of the teams, divisions, tiers, leagues, field locations, and everything they need to run their leagues.
Their leagues stretch throughout the US South and they are looking to expand elsewhere in the US.
