Happy Canada Day!
Today we celebrate not only our country’s birthday, but also the remarkable Canadians who have helped shape our history and inspire generations.
From the courage of Terry Fox, whose Marathon of Hope united a nation, Rick Hansen, whose Man in Motion Tour wheeled over 40,000 kilometres through 34 countries, to the leadership of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada’s first Prime Minister, our story has been built by people with vision, determination, and resilience.
We remember pioneers such as Alexander Graham Bell, who developed the telephone while living in Canada; Dr. Frederick Banting, whose discovery of insulin transformed diabetes treatment around the world, and Viola Desmond, whose stand against racial segregation became a defining moment in Canada’s civil rights movement.
Our history has also been enriched by Indigenous leaders, artists, scientists, athletes, entrepreneurs, volunteers, and everyday Canadians whose contributions continue to make this country stronger.
